Top Storylines
• Having already surpassed its win total from a season ago, Georgia Tech looks to move closer to bowl eligibility and remain in contention for the ACC Coastal Division championship when it hosts division rival Duke on Saturday afternoon at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

• It’s homecoming at Georgia Tech and, much more often than not, that means that the Yellow Jackets will come out on top. The Jackets are 51-15-1 all-time in homecoming games, dating back to the Institute’s first homecoming in 1949. The Yellow Jackets have won three-straight and 18 of their last 20 homecoming contests.

• Duke is Georgia Tech’s most common homecoming opponent, as Saturday marks the 22nd time that the Blue Devils and Yellow Jackets have played on homecoming at Tech. The Jackets are 14-6-1 in homecoming games against the Devils. Georgia Tech has not hosted any other opponent more than seven times for homecoming.

• Duke is also Georgia Tech’s third-most common opponent overall, as the schools have met 83 previous times on the gridiron (every season since 1933). The Yellow Jackets own a 50-32-1 advantage in the all-time series. Tech has only played Georgia (110 meetings) and Auburn (92 meetings) more than it has squared off against Duke.

• Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas needs only 45 passing yards to become the 39th player in NCAA Division I FBS history with 4,000 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in a career. Thomas, who has 3,955 passing yards and 2,092 rushing yards in 43 career games, is already the first player in Georgia Tech history with 3,500 passing yards and 2,000 rushing yards in a career.
